The Flowtron Replacement Lamp Ballast/Transformer is important for the UV Bulb and the zapping grid to keep working efficiently. The UV Bulb is the main method attraction and zapping grid is the only method of killing the insects. When the insects come near the bulb, the insects either get zapped and are killed instantly by the nearby non-clogging, high-efficiency shock grid. The Lamp Ballast/Transformer enables the Flowtron Bug Zapper series of products to work continuously to ensure you and your family are safe at all times.

After several years, maybe 10 years, my Flowtron Zapper was not zapping as it used to. The Zapper was barely frying the flying insects. I purchased the new Ballast/Transformer and installed it. Now the Zapper is working as it is supposed to work.
Fixed part of the problem, but I ordered the bulb starter with the transformer all fixed now.
Hardware very good. Instructions must have been written by someone who failed their ESL class. Have any of you used these instructions? I doubt it.
